Transmit data from CR1000 to computer using Xbee

JimmyXu Sep 21, 2013 09:55 PM

hi every one,
I'm new to Data logger CR1000. So far I'm working on a school project which is using Xbee to transmit the data stored in the CR1000 to my computer wirelessly. I have been searching for solution on google for long time but no luck! I know I couldn't just plug in the xbee to the RS232 serial port because they are not compaitiable. Is that anyway I could make it achieve my goal? Thank you so much for your time.

You need two rs-232 devices. One for the remote CR logger and one for the computer. I use RF modems obtained on ebay. You can use xbees as well but they need to have the correct carrier boards to enable rs-232 comms, and be configured to do so via xbee software (digi). So PC rs-232 to rf (xbee or other device) rf to rs-232 port on the CR logger.
