Communication error loading in data from CR300 datalogger

Katrin Jul 18, 2022 07:27 AM

Good morning,

I am measuring carbon fluxes in the field with a chamber method. We have a CR300 datalogger connected to a Licor7810 measuring CO2 and CH4 as well as temperature and PAR. I'm having problems loading in the data from the logger. I've managed to download data from it once but now I get a communication error stating "Failure: received duplicate records". I'm using the program PC400 to load the data. I am wondering if you can help me with this problem?

Best regards,

Katrín Björnsdóttir

My recollection is that we have seen an error in the past when LoggerNet and PC400 are asking to collect from a known  range of records and the datalogger has some form of corruption in the table structure that causes it to lose its way.  The result of this is that, each time the client requests a range, the datalogger responds with records that it has already sent.  In the past, the software would end up in an endless loop rather than detecting the condition.

Others may be better able to offer alternatives but I believe that, in order to clean up the error, you have to force the datalogger to recompile its program and reinitialise its data tables.  This can be done in the file control tab of either PC400 or DevConfig by first stopping the program (deleting data) and then restarting the program.  Before doing so, you should try to use the data collect in PC400 using the date range or record number range options that would start the query from the record after the problematic record number and going up to the newest record in the table.
