SDI-12 addressing.

As far as I understand, SDI-12 allows the connection of several devices to the same port. In my case I plan to install 4 CS650 probes to a CR300 datalogger, however I was wondering how to change the individual address of each probe (0-9 and A-Z), in the manual it is mentioned: "The CS650 ships with a default SDI-12 address of 0 unless otherwise specified at the time of ordering", however in case it was not requested, how these addresses can be changed?

This is a great tutorial video. It will show you how to change the sensor address.

Also, section D.2 of the CS650 manual https://s.campbellsci.com/documents/us/manuals/cs650.pdf gives instruction on changing an SDI-12 address.

What is not mentionned in the well done video is the way the PC running loggernet is connected to the datalogger.

I'm trying to change, through Internet) the SDI12 address of one of severals Windsonic Option 4 deployed on a tower and connected on a CR1000 datalogger. Could you confirm that it is not possible through internet and that the only way to do this is to climb up my tower with a computer, a logger, a battery and a specific cable between the Windosonic I want its address changed and the logger.

I would like believe it is possible by another way.

Let me know waht I can do,

All the best,

The Terminal Emulator, accessed through the Connect screen, will work over an IP connection.

If two of the Windsonic have the same address currently, someone needs to physically disconnect one before you can change the address on the other.
