03301-L Wind Sentry Vane
Reliable, Accurate Wind Direction
Sensor for only measuring wind direction

Overview

The 03301, manufacted by R. M. Young, is the wind vane included with our Wind Sentry Sets (03002, 03001). Although some customers have valid applications that require monitoring wind speed only (without direction), monitoring wind direction only (without wind speed) provides little useful information. For this reason, the 03301 is available for two purposes:

  1. As a replacement vane for a Wind Sentry Set that requires replacement of the vane only
  2. As an "upgrade" for a customer that originally purchased only the anemometer and now wants to add the vane to make a complete Wind Sentry Set

  1. The wind vane does not use bearings, so replacement is not necessary. Typically, the part that needs replacing is the potentiometer. Campbell Scientific recommends factory replacement.

    1. Using Short Cut, click the applicable wind direction sensor in the Selected Sensors list of the Outputs screen.
    2. The two output options enabled are Sample and WindVector. Select WindVector.
    3. The WindVector instruction has output options. Select an option with mean wind direction in it.
